About HIF EMEA
HIF EMEA, headquartered in Berlin, Germany, is HIF Global`s subsidiary covering the economic area of Europe, Middle East and Africa. With more than two billion people the EMEA region is a center full of challenges and opportunities to supply people and businesses with secured, clean, and carbon neutral energy to speed up decarbonization.
HIF EMEA will develop e-Fuels projects in the region for the region and will adapt HIF Global`s experience in Chile, USA and Australia, to the different legislative requirements in Europe, Africa and the Middle East countries. The EMEA office will lead the imports of e-Fuels from HIF Global´s production facilities worldwide into the region.
The Germany based office will also explore how to use existing infrastructure for e-Fuels, and further opportunities to create parts of the value chain in the EMEA region, and will assist legislators to create a transparent and secure certification process for e-Fuels.

Thorsten Herdan
Thorsten has a broad experience in industry as well as government business. As former Director General Energy in the German Ministry of Economy and Energy and Chairman of the supervisory board of the first German state-owned fund, he combines financial experience from an industry, government, and asset management perspective. He holds a Dipl.Ing. Degree Mechanical Engineering from the RWTH University of Aachen.
