About HIF USA
HIF is taking what it learns in Chile and applying it globally, starting with areas in the United States with high quality renewable energy resources. Headquartered in Houston, HIF USA will begin on the Gulf Coast, where wind resources and CO₂ are inevitable.
HIF USA will use renewable energy from the wind and a process called electrolysis to produce green hydrogen. The project will also capture CO₂ and use a process of synthesis to combine the CO₂ and Hydrogen to produce e-Fuels. The e-Fuel will create a way for existing infrastructure to become carbon neutral by continuously reusing and recycling the CO₂.

HIF Matagorda e-Fuels Facility
The Matagorda plant will be the first large-scale e-Fuels facility in the world and expects to produce approximately 1,4 million tons per year of e-Methanol by 2027. It will provide over 4,000 jobs during construction, and will benefit not only Matagorda County, but all of South Texas.

Renato Pereira is the Chief Executive Officer of HIF USA. Renato has over 30 years of experience in the energy sector with positions of increasing responsibility in infrastructure development, business development, and origination and trading. Renato earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA from the University of Houston.
