About HIF Latam
Latam is the region where HIF Global was originated due to the strong winds of southern Chile. The iconic HIF Haru Oni eFuels facility in Magallanes, Chile, has been producing eFuels since late 2022 for its client Porsche, and the upcoming project is the HIF Cabo Negro eFuels facility. In Uruguay, HIF Global announced in 2023 the development of its largest eFuels facility in South America, to be located in Paysandú.
HIF Cabo Negro eFuels Facility
The plant will use renewable energy from the wind and a process called electrolysis to produce green hydrogen. The project will also capture CO2 from biomass, industrial sources or directly from the atmosphere, and use a process of synthesis to combine the CO2 and hydrogen to produce eFuels, including carbon neutral methanol (eMethanol), gasoline (eGasoline) and carbon neutral Liquefied Gas (eLG).

HIF Paysandú eFuels Facility
The HIF Paysandú eFuels facility will be our first project in Uruguay. It expects to produce approximately 250,000 tons per year of carbon neutral eGasoline, with the potential to decarbonize over 150,000 vehicles. It will provide over 3,000 jobs during construction and 300 during operations.
