Punta Arenas, November 2, 2023. HIF Global, the world’s leading eFuels company, today announced the beginning of its commercial exports of carbon-neutral eFuels to Europe. The company exported 24,600 liters of synthetic gasoline in Puerto Mardones, aboard the ship "Copihue", expected to dock in San Antonio International Terminal, and then continue its journey to the United Kingdom.
Victor Turpaud, HIF Global’s regional manager for the Latam region said, “In March, we shipped the first liters of eFuels to be tested by Porsche, now we are completing the first commercial export of eGasoline to be used in Porsche’s Experience Centers and the Porsche Mobil 1 Super Cup. This product can be used today, with existing engines and infrastructure, and represents a concrete step forward in the fight against climate change”.
Just like conventional gasoline, HIF´s synthetic gasoline was transported in an isotank, complying with special safety standards, made of a stainless-steel alloy, and surrounded by protective layers.
To accomplish this milestone, the fuel had to go through strict quality control, with 24/7 parameter control, on-site controls, and daily sample analysis in the eFuels laboratory developed by HIF Global together with Gasco and the University of Magallanes.
